THIS is what the fuck I’m talking about!! Hip hop lyricism is a sport and NY emcee Joell Ortiz is first up to the plate to answer Kendrick Lamar’s heavy, and scathing challenge. Lamar put damn near the whole game on blast, all while claiming to be the King of New york on Big Sean’s track, “Control” also featuring Jay Electronica, who both are also called out by Kendrick Lamar.
Social media has been on FIRE over this challenge, which some are misinterpreting as a “diss” record. Joell Ortiz responds most appropriately and spits blue flames on his response, “Outta Control”.
“Maybe that’s why you left me outta that shit/ maybe that’s why slaughterhouse ain’t get dissed/ or maybe I’m not on your radar/ you feel like you ain’t gotta acknowledge my clique/ either way I personally train this B/ you gotta get ripped/ you rich rappers can’t respond with all the dollars you get/ gangsta rappers can’t retaliate with hollows and clips/ you fashion rappers wear the kind of jeans that hardly can zip/ so zip it I got this shit/ real hip hop in this bitch…” – Joell Ortiz
All of you emcees with struggle bars need not apply please.
