So now a counter-culture finally has made good and the most basic problems of Americana, first fucking world problems now get to be thrown on breaks and rapped up. Portland based, Maxx the Muffin Man didn’t make the shit up and he’s got as more opportunity than many before to do it.
His technical skills are not horrible but this Hip Hop is almost a half century old and average skills are not a rarity anymore. The oddball quirkiness of his songs (i.e. “no chorus needed”) have been extracted and abused to corniness by the other man long before him (i.e. Beastie Boys) and wonderfully used by our own much more amazingly (i.e. Madlib). Here the over enunciated pill’d up stoner cadence has little lyric value. There are so many stellar white MCs, with problems nowhere near oppression as is true, and have a fire to rhyme and really take some of these simple thumpers and rock them (i.e. as I think of an Edan on “wishin the daze” instead). When I says on the title track that he has a new passion now I’m thinking I hope it’s not fucking rap.
This record speaks to the near future of a kids museum that allows you to record your own rap songs to the sound of the era you would like to sound like. There is no originality and so much well executed imitation here from Maxx’ dorm room that the fun and release they needed was fulfilled. All music has earned its way into disposable use. Willingly we can flush after we use Hip Hop.

#LOVEandLOYALTY A #LoLife
The organization of these principles around a counterculture, an expressive arts of creation that uplifts the ideas and thoughts of an oppressed people, is why I’m an honored builder amongst legends, knighted by heroes of Medina (Rakim Supreme Shabazz Allah/Rudy Lo, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Bonz Malone) to further create in my element as a Hip Hop Writer of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic. So the world may find love that locks in with the action of loyalty though they may never find another writer with my kind of grammar…
