Speeds that feud with relativity,
The only sane liquid steeped in the utensil that transfers my thoughts.
I move my hand in the manner I think.
Degrees of 56, the Gods know this tempo
Records been the sidemen in my corner.
Yet my words have them cuts de mottos they throwing white towels up on.
Upon my wild idea of preserving innovation
That ain’t never fluttered,
ciphering in dangerous swirls,
camo’d wings flap over the metal LO cookie,
with my sacred word in the universal flag stone
I will it all to work, those who love me hope it heals me.
They may never see again but they will never let us not see them. It is a special glory they can impose on us, so humbly done I close my own eyes to see it all better. Better for the succession of those sounds that won’t relent. We know it as Boom Bap, a preserved countering to the popular floundering, that seeks to stunt the countercultural music we need. Stoneface, with distinct clarity, a focused persona and a thematic mission, makes The Stone Age an ideal listening album/bench press banger/anthemic collection.
Stoneface has near perfect clarity and thus can fire through songs too many will bump and select listeners will analyze. ” Stoneface’s thematic structure is literally a constant encrypted scripturing of revolutionary action, from the spiritual to the daily deeds.
The strength of Stoneface’s lyricism is that his freely constructed verses all have a binding focus on his commentaries to the nature of our revolution (“Hood News Report (7′ O’Clock News)”), picturesque detail that exalts our supremacy in the most anthemic manners (“Symphony hotspot born in captivity/half breed amarith born in antiquity/money got the spiritless thinking that they into these…33 and ⅓ of action, from the east he will rise on television caption…” – “Sacrifice (Stonehenge Mysteries)” and a powerful prose of introspection (“Reflections in the Mirror,” “Hold it Down Ma”). Like his Gemstar Regime brother William Cooper, they make some of the toughest and vital spiritual warrior music we have today. And so needed because the battle bars of “4th Dimension,” or “Empty Place,” are so viciously powerful they’ll voice your most righteously militant moves from training to the performance of healing perfection. Stoneface’s is essentially an anthem verbalist where his life’s hells become an art of write rights’ fuel.
BP is too fucking live on this. All of his tracks are like mesh caps. You see right through to the brains of every last instrument working alone, the frenetic intensity of each piano strum to every drum snares in deep bass. Yet when the air of Stoneface and his warriors pass through the funk freshness the tracks are filled to the brim. The basslines groove like long punches brittling bones on “Stone Age,” the amazing vocal Soul sister sampled to euphoria through the rolling drum march on “Empty Place,” the horn rushing through the bassdrum smashes on “Arch Nemesis,” the stuttered drum and hummed vocals distant in the burning bass bushes on “37 Arsonist” or the conga subtleties, sung stamp and bass dive on “Chiseled Stone,” are not random excellence but typical of the entire LP that drives so potently.
Hip Hop is filled with the art of rage and those albums take stacks, racks and bricks of horrible deeds to spark us. When the rare MC as Stoneface rages awax, it is our own lessons, codes and scriptures of lost supremacies that inspire us.
Times so synced with a peoples’ convenient cynicism
Them clones move freely,
Yet I, in stillness,
This archaic era, any moment manhandled into posted capital
They say I’ve been blinded but i know I’ve only been dramatically minded
My eyes became reverted pupils in the classroom of my roaming thoughts
I seen my eyes before principle every last period penned
I’m a bad muthafucka
#LOVEandLOYALTY A #LoLife
The organization of these principles around a counterculture, an expressive arts of creation that uplifts the ideas and thoughts of an oppressed people, is why I’m an honored builder amongst legends, knighted by heroes of Medina (Rakim Supreme Shabazz Allah/Rudy Lo, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Bonz Malone) to further create in my element as a Hip Hop Writer of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic. So the world may find love that locks in with the action of loyalty though they may never find another writer with my kind of grammar…
