LO and see cold,

the perniciousness that preys

upon the piety of this poor Polo swordsman.

Mountain tops have been gentrified so we have these small makeshift altars of exotic figurines molded in our potential, memory holding photos of our once fleshed inspirations  and the dust and smoke of incense to return them lovingly and redeem our focus.

These tiny treasured spectacles we got, to only build on the hillsides where ol’ devil’s were once exiled. They came as we planned, to toughen us and inspire us to purify the inside, then destroyed us and left us as these niggers. Left us to play with the last letters of the title but still smitten. Until we name our intentions sincerely, take our trangressions to near none clearly and claim perfection, not just in remembrance but any and all mistakes to lessons, naturally, superiorly.

These thoughts should be worn around the necks, golden. Traveled along with the supreme beings who won’t await but now will anoint their self, Budda.

For now, that lone Lo Life,

Skillastrator equestrian,

with the home sewn garment,

stamps along these Sacred WORDS

into dirt lined passages,

a trail across the planet Asia.

Never challenge the God who has named himself right. The music gotta title and so do he. My Fresno brother, the God Power, artistically known as Planet Asia, has challenged himself. He has effectively rhymes at a peak this entire decade that outdoes his thriving work through the #DarkAges. There’s a freedom to his prose, the cleverest depth in his bars so many of the wrong rappers are given credit for PA really has. For this writer, it seemed that after those classic Muggs tracks hit him in 2008 for the Pain Language, he ain’t been what he was once. He became a wordplay wizard, shooting phrases and couplets that leave behind powerful quotables and some of the best spoken waters flowing on breaks since. Now The Golden Buddha, he reappears in the middle of again and again. And I know the God was thinking when he waxed it, something like, supreme being, militant Zen, gold chain adorning the chakras.

The sheer output and vast array of producers that PA has worked with for extended projects (i.e. the aforementioned Muggs for Pain Language LP, Gensu Dean for Abstractions LP, Sonny Vintage for Velour Portraits EP, Apollo Brown for Anchovies, etc.) has made him a master at blending bars with themes, concepts with abstract phrasing. Working with izznyce here the same holds and Golden Buddha becomes a diverse soundscape with matching concepts, techniques and understanding. The understanding shared in the most non-didactic way where the God been exalting his supremacy for years and years yet at the crucial moments he looks at our third eye and sincerely shares a jewel.  One of those timeless jewels, a line up there with his entire career’s best, is on the powerful single, “Magnetic Lord,” where he relates and walks us toward the build,  “rock bottom, I been there till I learned to alchemize my goals out of thin air.” The mind as the root, the spark of it all by one’s mere drive, focus and determination is an essential principle of the knowledge of self.  It being true it also is a core of Zen Buddhist, Chan, Taoist and countless schools of thought of our Original ancestors.

Golden is filled with jewels from the jewel in all the martial arts, “”accolades don’t mean shit when you fighting strangers…” (“Black Egypt”) or the entire “Smart Too Late” where he tells us (“motherfuckers always wanna march and shit when somebody do something to us when somebody else doing it to us. But when we do it to ourselves, don’t nobody say shit) and bars to us “in my city shooters are scandalous/we went from many men to almost manless/sometimes I try to wrap my head around the understanding/too many cowards y’all that’s why I keep a piece of protection/357, Understanding Power God…”) the situation and the repercussions with the insight (“the good guy got murdered but the hood awarded it/some middle age crisis nigga ordered it/the never ending cycle of wild psychos/the post traumatic slaves that behave like old white folks/it’s like they stressed us for so many years now we imitate our oppressor and take it out on each other for lesser…”).

Within all the builds, the techs are just amazing from “Pieces Hittin” where on the verse he stays in the pocket calm, increasing the tempo, crowding words into bars effortlessly.  The cleverness to the Buddhist theme is flipped on “Siddhartha” to anthemically uphold his integrity. Then the incredible word choices that fuel his signature phrasing from “Magnetic Lord,” “Shots At Your Highness,” (“the treasure chest to the chancellor was Egyptian merch…”) to“Fly Writings” (“gray skies cover my hustle/foul niggas cloud my neighborhood/my gun bodyguards me/protects me from evil demons, goons and goblins..regime poisonous, the kings of the indy, culture vultures flock to the aura and try to blend in/I’m in the hood with the killers and the turf Gottis/my science turn hood rats to Earth bodies/army tank tyrant/the code name on this dog tag, it read ‘violence’/I illustrate the principles/smack fire outta ya face and stroll of with a whopper hanging out of my waist…”).

Musically, izznyce enables Planet Asia well with bringing beds to the themes as the brooding basslines and horn blaring long throughout “Smart Too Late.”  There are the bassline that bangs as if its terrorizing a cheap speaker with wails and DMC proclamations on “Fireworks,” the funky guitar licks and living bass thuds with Xiomara singing Chaka-like for the summer track, “Take It Higher,” the clipped vocals and guitar quips on “Black Egypt,” the driving sparse drums on “Pieces Hittin,” or the big break and Soul’d voice snippings for “Hood Legends,” make for an incredibly diverse forum for Planet Asia.  While not ranking with the greats and legends who have fully produced Planet Asia LPs, The Golden Buddha, has achieved the same in bringing out more of Power’s R&B.  My brother been his own genre for a while, Rhythm & Builds…

Sunez Allah #SkillastratorLO of the LO LIFES

The organization of these principles around a counterculture, an expressive arts of creation that uplifts the ideas and thoughts of an oppressed people, is why I’m an honored builder amongst legends, knighted by heroes of Medina (Rakim Supreme Shabazz Allah/Rudy Lo, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Bonz Malone) to further create in my element as a Hip Hop Writer of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic. So the world may find love that locks in with the action of loyalty though they may never find another writer with my kind of grammar…
