TAP OUT – LORD OF ALL WORLDZ EP Review

Real gangsta shit

Building babies in destroyed lands

The way I stood, the date 9/12, with the Universal flag,

‘In the Name of Allah’ the lettership swirling

around the Sun, Moon, star and fathering seven

Never just wokefully speaking

We really walk the ways of wisdom

Swing the blows of revolution

And script the history we lived out

Arm, Leg, Leg, Arm, supreme Head

We’re only in the world we create…

Gauging potential, the next talents ever developing and always trusting the cosigns of the great MCs. Not by the BallyhooCreature’s paid features, the emerging followed personality will I write by the pawn’s early plight. The brothers with infinite power like Infinite Power got a knowledge of self they’ve been able to value in the verse.  Tap-Out, repping Worcester, Massachusetts, only has a quick half-hour to impress the depress the world I on. And with King Author, “the Black Fidel Castro,” another rising bar builder and Zagnif, the prose dynamo, essential to this #InvisibleRenaissance, endorsing Tap-Out, I do the knowledge.

0014671276 10This Lord Of All Worldz EP would have earned him a deal in the alternative universe where excitable illness is lauded. Tap-Out rhymes loud and piercing, with beats that smash or bass groove violently and charges through with that 5 Percenter warrior ethos that makes a man work harder and teach with more care. The lead, “Tap Out!,” with EvillDewer lacing horns from an ole Soul joint I’d love to uncrate if I ain’t by the date of this writing realigned into a Shaw Brothers energy. The vocals cut into “yeah” chips and “Tap out kicking the crap out ya physical” the quick mantra. Then the declarative, “Yo, i told yall before I’ma tell yall again, I’m God Cipher Divine [G.O.D.], no beginning, no end.”  The vibe is vintage like finding the lost 93 cassette LPs in bins in 1995. A sound so quickly dismissed but so thoroughly cherished because the raw we clamor for we really aren’t connoisseurs of.

LOAW back coverCrafty in the homage as Willy-Low turning a vocal snippet into a droning hum and the drums smacking and slapping as high hats bump into the snares on “Guess Whut?.” Crowd motivation, destruction of enemies, uncompromising in this knowledge of self, trooping through “Broken Jaw” where the homage to Tap-Out’s foundation is saluted, “Free Medina be my foundation and what is the birth record of said nations/ This requires patience/clear calculations/constant elevation/ and some proper celebration/Free transportation/gotta pay attention/supreme is the being and I hope you got the message…” Tap-Out rhymes in a loud, tempered, angrily enunciated way without vocal stress. It rides the meditative heaviness of the beats as opposed to chasing the speed of the high hat or the working to punchline on every snare.  “No Government” defines the mission against systematic oppression and really reveals some nimble wordplay. The title track, “LOAW,” reveals Tap-Out as a mid-tempo flowman that can leave little space in his verses.

Some strong tools, powerful tone, clarity, anthemic capabilities and a thematic persona of the most high respect, Lord of All Worldz is a great intro work. One where battle bars dominate but the potential for more profound records are there in this stomping wax.

The organization of these principles around a counterculture, an expressive arts of creation that uplifts the ideas and thoughts of an oppressed people, is why I’m an honored builder amongst legends, knighted by heroes of Medina (Rakim Supreme Shabazz Allah/Rudy Lo, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Bonz Malone) to further create in my element as a Hip Hop Writer (creative author/principled journalist/honoring historian) of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic. So the world may find love that locks in with the action of loyalty though they may never find another writer with my kind of grammar…
