ZAGNIF NORI – SUPER ZAG & FER NOBLE EP Review

ZAGNIF NORI - SUPER ZAG & FER NOBLE EP ReviewBy SUNEZ #SkillastratorLO

I own my own factuals, rebellious concoctions of martial actuals

and acumen’s grammaticals

Remember?! Just cognizants and illables skillastrated

Some o’ them deflate and demoralize, never inspire and embolden.

I dematerialize them in the remorseful rewind whilst

the #RespectFAKE collect my deletables,

live out the swine-fold path, a suitcase of unpacked patterns of puss.

#TRANSreal who finagle by fables and meander meagerly with myths

So now, swooping Iron Butterfly strikes nobly with Tiě Biāo Zhǐ!

ZAGNIF NORI - SUPER ZAG & FER NOBLE EP ReviewFilled with posers, wiggers and hypocrites, the MCing world is a diluted Follywood. And I build daily that our essential brothers can’t destroy that all by just working against the damned and flooding tracks. The highlighting to the care and meticulousness of the greatest lyricists and crafting beatmakers is a duty of this writer just as it is the gloriously obsessed listener. And in ten songs, Zagnif Nori again shows the worth of hand crafted excellence with these two nickeled up EPs, Super Zag and Fer Noble.

Zagnif Nori is a word wizard delivering concentrated prose, where every line oozes of hours of word choice battles won. His layering turns his verses into rhythmic complexities hard to immediately repeat and exciting to rewind for more and more comprehensions of exclamation.

On Super Zag, the imagery of visually interpolating the cover of Superfly isn’t for the pimpish undertones for the great insight of the hustler prevailing out of hell. So we got scenes in perfectly syllabically measured phrasing on “Shakedown,” “Crimes are savage but provide the cash/here times will ravage the blind…lamping with the flyest actions that my mind can capture…” and equipped with the coupleted mentality on “Priestly Business,”  “Shooters is active brutal and that’s it/music is classic, super looping the madness/funeral caskets, proven, bruising these faggots/ removing the wackness, recouping the passion…” The diversity of idea shifting and detail despite word choices so deftly along with taking grammatical liberties for flow, replacing connective words with expert pausing is a most high skill. It often, for this writer, makes an MC with respectable clarity still rewindable because the expected word isn’t always barred and the typical phrasing of ideas is often abandoned offering the pleasures of that next shit.

ZAGNIF NORI - SUPER ZAG & FER NOBLE EP ReviewSuper Zag is a flashiness derived from the attack of menace causing flashes of pain and exhilaration. “Elevator Switch” exemplifies the production by Bulldog Drummond with a deep 1,2 break with electric razor slicing through a consistent bass rumble. And Nori grimes through, “..We don’t tolerate cowards/trying to moderate ours…explain to the masses your snakes and actions…” The bass booms are crisp and clean but just as deep on “Noble Acrostics” where Zagnif adds on, “Allah School generals surround me in open quarters…fly garment brother, my vanity spread…”  Through the toughest beats and musical backdrops that have cinematic appeal and/or soulful auras, Zagnif on Super Zag powers a swift blueprint of slang styling and wordplay’d flows.

Danamic & Zagnif Nori of Noble Scity

On Fer Noble, KaBé Prod eclecticizes his thematics into anthems of a more pensive kind. The title track is a King’s procession breaked and beat up and Zagnif layers with deft internal rhymes, syllabillic coupling for a most high layered prose. Through sorrowed strings from a lost period drama equipped with a snare thickener on the break, “Art Deco” continues the lo fi illness and …”twin barrels from the dual headed zodiac sign…” the wry slickness of the battle descriptors is strong. On the lovely “Smeared Blood,” the piano is in a large dining hall with a thirty foot ceiling and Yacub’s ghost flutters cymbal like high hats, all through drums that pound like slaves banging on the massa’s doors.  “Deteriorated homes/wearing naked bones/most are lost hoping that the sheriff will take them home…” Pure poetry. The wonderful cleanness of “Qui Vivra Verra” and counting the times Zagnif says something ill is pure fun, massive rewindables especially the last handful of bars.

Ultimately, the only demand is that these ten songs, over these two EPs, are remastered even greater one day so that the vocals come in higher in the mix.  Zagnif’s pen may be the most underrated art in this #InvisibleRenaissance. It turns battle bars into warrior stanzas surrounding by beats for the toughest trenches. Scores for this life as I see it…

ZAGNIF NORI - SUPER ZAG & FER NOBLE EP Review#LOVEandLOYALTY A #LoLife

The organization of these principles around a counterculture, an expressive arts of creation that uplifts the ideas and thoughts of an oppressed people, is why I’m an honored builder amongst legends, knighted by heroes of Medina (Rakim Supreme Shabazz Allah/Rudy Lo, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Bonz Malone) to further create in my element as a Hip Hop Writer (creative author/principled journalist/honoring historian) of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic. So the world may find love that locks in with the action of loyalty though they may never find another writer with my kind of grammar…
